Small things, long stories

See the whole collection

Why fragments?

A washer from a bridge. A sliver of stone. A scrap of metal you might pass over in a drawer. On their own, most of the pieces in this collection are unremarkable. What makes them extraordinary is where they have been.

Each exhibit begins with the story: the people, the ambition and the accidents of history. Then it shows you the piece itself, and tells you plainly what is known about it.
